Medical Cannabis Referral Service

Puri Pharmacy has partnered with Sapphire Medical, one of the UK’s leading providers of medical cannabis. We act as a dispensary and provide treatment on the receipt of a private prescription from Sapphire Medical.

If you are interested in medical cannabis and want to find out whether it is suitable for you, visit our branch in Southall or Hillingdon to learn more or contact Sapphire Medical directly.

How does the Referral Service work?

Sapphire Clinics is the UK’s longest running clinic to specialise in cannabis based medicinal products. We work with them and dispense treatments to make a convenient and local experience for you.

Here’s how it works:

Create an Account

Create an account with Sapphire, complete a short set of questions, and share your relevant medical records.

You can send Sapphire Clinic your medical records directly or give them permission to get them on your behalf.

Book an appointment

Sapphire Clinic clinicians will review your application and, if suitable, you will be invited to book a virtual appointment.

Discounted appointments are available for those who wish to join the Sapphire Access Scheme and contribute their data to the UK Medical Cannabis Registry.

MDT Approval

After your consultation, their Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) of doctors and pharmacists will assess whether medical cannabis is appropriate for you.

Prescriptions

If approved, your prescription will be sent to Puri Pharmacy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, medical cannabis is legal when prescribed to eligible patients by a specialist doctor on the GMC register. Prior to 1st November 2018 medical cannabis was categorised by the Home Office as a schedule 1 drug. Based on the evidence to support its use as a medicine by the Chief Medical Officer it was reclassified to permit its prescribing as a controlled drug. This means that medical cannabis is legal when prescribed by specialist doctors on the GMC register within the area of their expertise, and when agreed upon by a multidisciplinary team adhering to all existing protocols for controlled drugs. Sapphire Medical Clinics adhere to all these criteria.

To understand whether medical cannabis is appropriate for you, you can complete the free eligibility checker from Sapphire Medical by clicking the link below.
