EALING.NEWS has reported on Puri Pharmacy’s work with Southall FC to improve access to cardiac screening outside the professional game.
Leslie Bunder’s report, published on 22 October 2026, describes how the initiative developed from Rahul Puri’s four-year relationship with the club and his interest in sport. It also covers the role of local businesses and club sponsors in making the first screening session free for participating players and staff, and the ambition to support other sporting organisations.
Puri Pharmacy coordinates the screening day and records the resting 12-lead ECGs. Cardiologic provides specialist interpretation by UK cardiologists, while Lenira Health provides separate finger-prick blood testing using PocDoc technology.

Screening can identify findings that may need further assessment, but it cannot detect every heart condition, guarantee safe participation or provide a fitness-to-play certificate.
