If no wax is found, the private assessment charge is £25 in clinic or £65 for a home visit. The same charges apply if an ear infection prevents removal.

Yes. Home visits cost £120 per appointment. If no wax is found or an infection prevents removal, the home visit and assessment charge is £65. We normally cover addresses within approximately five miles of either our Southall or Hillingdon branch, subject to availability. Outside this area? Enquire with your postcode so we can confirm whether we can support you.

For children and young people aged 1–17 with suspected acute otitis media (a middle-ear infection), we may be able to offer assessment and, where appropriate, treatment through NHS Pharmacy First, subject to the pathway criteria and pharmacist assessment. Antibiotics are not always needed.

Most appointments can be completed in one visit, but a further appointment may be needed if wax is particularly hard or impacted, preparation has not sufficiently softened it, or it is safer to stop and reassess.
