Furthermore, our FREE consultation service is available at both branches, offering expert and professional care for you and your family. Additionally, we can prescribe certain prescription-only medicines, including antibiotics, to treat an earache.

What is an earache?

Earaches, commonly affecting children, typically last about a week. Over 80% of children naturally recover within 2-3 days without antibiotics.

The symptoms often clear up on their own without medication.

At Puri Pharmacy, we are trained to recognise and treat earaches caused by infections. For a FREE consultation, visit our branches in Southall and Hillingdon. 

Earache symptoms

  • Ear pain.

  • Impaired hearing and ringing in ears.

  • Fever

  • Nausea and sickness

  • Fluid drainage from ear.

  • Dizziness.

Think Pharmacy First

Ear infections, particularly in children, usually persist for about a week. Additionally, over 80% of children naturally recover within 2-3 days without requiring antibiotics. For children aged 1 to 17 years, we are trained to assess and provide treatment through the Pharmacy First service.

However, we will refer you to your GP if:

  1. There are recurrent acute otitis media (3 or more episodes in 6 months or four or more episodes in 12 months).

  2. You are pregnant and under 16 years of age.
