Do I need to be an athlete?

No. This is a general-patient ECG service. You do not need a sports membership or a training goal. The team will check that the appointment is appropriate for your needs.

What does the £129 price include?

The price includes a relevant history and suitability check, a resting 12-lead ECG recording, consultant cardiologist reporting, an explanation of the report and next-step advice. Further investigations or specialist appointments are separate.

Do I need a GP referral?

Contact the team before booking so we can confirm suitability and what information is needed. If a GP, prescriber or another organisation has requested your ECG, bring their request and check that they will accept this service and report.

Will I see a cardiologist?

This service includes a consultant cardiologist’s report on your ECG recording. It does not include a face-to-face or remote consultation with a cardiologist.

When will I receive my results?

The consultant report follows the recording appointment. We will confirm the expected turnaround and how you will receive your report before you book. Please tell us about any deadline when you enquire.

Does a normal ECG rule out a heart problem?

No. A resting ECG records a short period of heart activity. Intermittent rhythm problems or other conditions may need different tests. Follow your clinician’s advice and seek medical advice for ongoing or changing symptoms, even if your ECG is normal.

How should I prepare?

Wear a top that is easy to remove and avoid lotions or creams on your skin before the test. Keep taking your usual medicines unless your clinician tells you otherwise. You can ask for a chaperone. The team will explain electrode placement and any preparation needed.

Can I arrange an ECG for someone under 18?

Please speak to the team before making arrangements. We need to confirm age eligibility, the reason for testing and the appropriate consent arrangements.
