Chickenpox vaccination is a preventive option for suitable people who are not already protected. It is a wider vaccination service, rather than a standard requirement for travel to a particular country.
Individual assessment at Puri Pharmacy Southall and Hillingdon. Confirm branch availability and age eligibility before attending.
Who should consider an assessment?
The assessment checks previous chickenpox, vaccination records and NHS eligibility. Children may qualify for the NHS MMRV programme, which includes chickenpox protection.
Price, doses and timing
£75 per dose. 2 doses: £150.
The private price is £75 per dose, or £150 for two doses. The appropriate interval depends on age and product; confirm this with the clinician rather than booking dates yourself.
Travel consultation: £25 per person, paid at booking. This payment is deducted once from the cost of vaccinations you have with us under your agreed plan, including at a later appointment. It is not an additional £25 on top of the vaccination bill. If you receive the consultation but do not proceed with vaccination, £25 pays for the consultation delivered.
Compare the full vaccination price list. Example totals cover the stated vaccine doses; any separate tests or documentation will be quoted before you agree.
What to know before your appointment
Tell us about recent or planned MMR/MMRV and other live vaccinations. Their timing can affect how appointments are arranged. Bring any school or GP vaccination record.
Suitability and safety
Chickenpox vaccine is live and is unsuitable in pregnancy and some immune-system conditions. Discuss pregnancy plans and immune-suppressing medicines before vaccination.
The pharmacist will discuss the relevant patient leaflet, possible side effects and what to do if you feel unwell after vaccination. Bring your previous vaccination records and a current medicines list.
Common questions
Does my child necessarily need a private course?
No. Check their NHS MMRV eligibility and previous doses first.
Is this a treatment for current chickenpox?
No. If someone is unwell or has had a concerning exposure, seek clinical advice rather than booking a routine vaccination.
