How to Switch Your Mounjaro Provider in the UK

Changing a Mounjaro provider involves a clinical handover. It is useful to compare communication, costs and follow-up, but a new team must assess the current treatment rather than promise continuation in advance.

How continuation is assessed

Provide your original treatment history as well as your current health and weight. A lower BMI after treatment is not, by itself, a complete reason to approve or reject ongoing care. The clinician needs the wider context and the relevant licensed indication.

Do not treat a history of pancreatitis as a simple online yes/no eligibility rule. Disclose it and other relevant conditions for individual clinical assessment. Read the UK prescribing information for warnings and precautions.

Compare the care arrangements

Ask about the assessment, total costs, routine contact route, prescription review and possible supply delays. Request current terms instead of relying on a historical price table or a stock promise.

Records to have ready

• Your identity and contact details through the provider’s secure process.
• Previous prescriptions and the previous prescriber’s details.
• The medicine, strength and date you last used it.
• Relevant monitoring reports, symptoms and other medicines.
• Any interruption and the reason for it.

Ask the receiving service what evidence it needs before sending photographs or sensitive records. A picture of a pen alone may not establish the complete prescription history.

Agree the handover

Confirm which service is responsible for outstanding results, the next review and any prescription. Explain upcoming travel or a limited remaining supply early; there is no single lead time that guarantees every transfer will be completed.

Does changing provider guarantee the same prescription?

No. The receiving clinician needs enough information to assess continued treatment. Ask what records are missing and what happens while they are being reviewed. Keep the last actual injection date clear and explain any treatment gap.
