Your Trusted Weight Loss Solution in Southall & Hillingdon

Managing weight effectively can be challenging, but medical advancements have introduced Ozempic (semaglutide) as a powerful option for sustainable weight loss. If you have struggled with diet and exercise alone, Ozempic may be the breakthrough treatment you need.

At Puri Pharmacy in Southall and Hillingdon, we provide access to Ozempic injections for weight loss, helping individuals achieve clinically proven results under expert guidance.

What is Ozempic?

Ozempic (semaglutide) was initially developed to manage type 2 diabetes, but clinical trials revealed its impressive weight loss benefits. As a result, it has become a widely used weight management treatment for individuals struggling with obesity or weight-related health conditions.

At Puri Pharmacy, we are committed to helping individuals in Southall and Hillingdon access proven medical solutions like Ozempic injections to support their weight loss goals.

How Does Ozempic Work for Weight Loss?

Ozempic mimics the GLP-1 hormone, which plays a key role in appetite regulation, blood sugar control, and digestion. When used for weight loss, Ozempic helps:

  • Reduce appetite by increasing feelings of fullness
  • Slow digestion to help control portion sizes and prevent overeating
  • Regulate blood sugar levels to avoid spikes and crashes that lead to cravings

This multi-action approach makes Ozempic an effective treatment for those who have struggled with weight management through lifestyle changes alone.

How Effective is Ozempic?

Clinical trials have demonstrated significant weight loss results. In a 68-week study, participants taking semaglutide lost an average of 15 per cent of their body weight when combined with diet and exercise.

At Puri Pharmacy, we have seen first-hand the positive impact Ozempic has had on our patients in Southall and Hillingdon. Individuals can achieve sustainable weight loss by combining personalized support and expert guidance.

How is Ozempic Administered?

Ozempic is a once-weekly injection designed for ease and convenience. The medication comes in a pre-filled pen, and our pharmacists at Puri Pharmacy will guide you on how to use it safely and effectively.

Ozempic is administered as a subcutaneous injection in one of the following areas:

  • Stomach (abdomen)
  • Thigh
  • Upper arm

Our team is available to provide ongoing support and monitoring to ensure you feel confident managing your treatment.

Ozempic is recommended for adults with obesity (BMI ≥ 30) or those who are overweight (BMI ≥ 27) with weight-related health conditions such as:

  • Type 2 diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol

At Puri Pharmacy in Southall and Hillingdon, we thoroughly assess whether Ozempic is right for you.

The starting dose of Mounjaro is always 2.5mg, once a week, for 4 weeks. This applies whether you are:

  • Restarting after a break from Mounjaro, or
  • Switching from another weight loss injection.

Each pen contains 4 doses, so your first pen will last for 4 weeks.

As of February 2024, it is available to purchase in Puri Pharmacy with a prescription written by our Independent Prescribing Pharmacist

On average, Mounjaro patients can expect the following weight loss:

  • 9% of body weight after 3 months

  • Around 21% of body weight by the 18-month mark

However, long-term success depends on incorporating healthier habits into your lifestyle to maintain weight loss.

Alcohol doesn’t have a known direct interaction with Mounjaro, but caution is advised. Alcohol can affect blood sugar levels, increasing the risk of hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) or spikes, especially for those with diabetes. Since Mounjaro manages blood sugar and appetite, drinking alcohol may interfere with its effectiveness. To stay safe, consider limiting or avoiding alcohol during treatment.

It’s best to avoid diet soda or other fizzy drinks while using Mounjaro. They can cause bloating and stomach pain, worsening the medication’s side effects.

While diet sodas are sugar-free and low in calories, they contain artificial sweeteners that aren’t recommended with Mounjaro. Instead, use water or unsweetened tea to stay hydrated and minimize side effects.
